Egypt’s Minister of Tourism, Rania al-Mashat, visited on Wednesday Google headquarters in the Emirati city of Dubai after receiving an invitation from the International technology giant. <\/p>\n
Al-Mashat observed the digital training programs provided by Google and how to utilize such programs to enhance tourism in Egypt. The Egyptian minister discussed means of cooperation between the giant tech company and Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism on the sideline of her participation at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai. <\/p>\n
Al-Mashat discussed having Google producing visual materials of areas in Egypt to promote tourism and provide the workers in Egypt’s tourism sector with the essential training in order to improve their competence. <\/p>\n
Al-Mashat asserted the State’s interest in using digital platforms to increase tourists’ traffic into Egypt and presenting a modern image of Egypt as a touristic destination. <\/p>\n
Al-Mashat explained the ministry\u2019s plan to change the stereotypical image of Egyptian tourism, pointing out the importance of sustainable tourism as one of the main axes of the government\u2019s vision. <\/p>\n
Mashat also explained that the ministry has developed the concept of \u2018sustainable tourism\u2019, which is responsible as a major strategic element in the structural reform program launched last November by the ministry to develop the tourism sector and ensure sustainable economic growth in line with national and global sustainable development goals. <\/p>\n
The minister pointed to the importance of tourism in Egypt as one of the main supporting sectors to the country\u2019s national economy. <\/p>\n
