Egypt\u2019s Cabinet denied on Monday rumors propagated by several media reports that the government will be forcing employees into early retirement to reduce the state\u2019s expenditure. <\/p>\n
In an official statement, the Cabinet\u2019s media center affirmed that it has contacted the Central Agency for Organization and Administration which categorically refuted the reports, terming the news as mere rumors. <\/p>\n
The agency reiterated that article 70 of the civil service law stipulates that early retirement is optional for employees, urging the media to be accurate in reporting news. <\/p>\n
The Cabinet also dismissed reports about changing the rate of the US dollar to LE 18 in the draft budget of the 2019\/2020 fiscal year. The ministry called on all media outlets and citizens to seek accuracy and contact the bodies concerned to avoid spreading false information <\/p>\n
