The 1st OAU summit was held in Cairo in 1969, the AU Commission’s head said. <\/p>\n
Mahamat reiterated that Egypt has made great progress in ending conflicts in Africa, urging youths to face the current challenges of terrorism and extremism in the continent. <\/p>\n
Ahmad Ahmad, president of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) stressed the importance of sports to have rapprochement among Arab and African countries, extending thanks to Egypt for hosting the forum. <\/p>\n
