Egypt has allocated $10 million to establish the African Space Agency and cover its running expenses for the next five years, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research\u2019s advisor for African affairs said on Saturday. <\/p>\n
Islam Abou el Magd told MENA that an agreement on the space agency’s headquarters, which will be built in the suburb of New Cairo, will be signed next month with African Union (AU) countries. <\/p>\n
The National Authority for Remote Sensing and Space Sciences (NARSS) will temporarily host the headquarters of the agency until the construction of its permanent site is completed, he pointed out. <\/p>\n
He asserted that Egypt will exert its utmost efforts to serve the African Space Agency in its mission to protect the outer space of the African continent; as one of the strategic goals of “Africa 2063” agenda. (MENA)
