{"id":125713,"date":"2019-02-23T18:41:21","date_gmt":"2019-02-23T16:41:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/almowatna.news\/?p=125713"},"modified":"2019-02-23T18:41:21","modified_gmt":"2019-02-23T16:41:21","slug":"court-sentences-life-10-cabinet-incidents-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/almowatna.news\/?p=125713","title":{"rendered":"Court sentences to life 10 in \u2018Cabinet Incidents\u2019 case"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cairo Criminal Court sentenced to life 10 defendants on Sunday over charges linked to 2011 riots known in the media as \u201cCabinet Incidents\u201d and \u201cEgyptian Scientific Institute Burning\u201d cases. <\/p>\n<p>Around 32 defendants in the cases are sentenced to life in absentia, including Actor Tareq el-Nahry, who are charged with involvement in burning the Egyptian Scientific Institute (Institut d\u2019Egypte). <\/p>\n<p>Among the defendants is the, who is facing charges of involvement in setting fire in public facilities, gathering, protests and possession of weapons. <\/p>\n<p>In December 2011, security forces dispersed a three-week sit-in at the Cabinet building, which caused clashes in the area surrounding the Cabinet and Shura Council and led to the burning of the Scientific Institute. <\/p>\n<p>Tareq el-Nahry was arrested in April 2012 in the case, and was later released.
