Liverpool Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, won BBC African Player of the year award for the second consecutive year. <\/p>\n

Salah is the second African player to win the award twice in a row following Nigeria\u2019s Jay-Jay Okocha who won the award in 2003 and 2004. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a great feeling to win again. I’m happy and I would like to win it also next year!” Salah told BBC. <\/p>\n

Salah was shortlisted alongside his Senegalese teammate in Liverpool Sadio Mane, Moroccan defender Medhi Benatia, Senegal\u2019s Kalidou Koulibaly and Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey. <\/p>\n

\u201cI try to push myself every day to help the team win something,\u201d Salah added. <\/p>\n

Salah has had an amazing season with Liverpool as he led his team to UEFA Champions League Final against Real Madrid but he only played 25 minutes and left the pitch suffering an injury and followed his team\u2019s 3-1 loss from the stands. <\/p>\n

The Egyptian scored 44 goals last season at all competitions, including 32 goals at the league that granted him the Premier League Golden Boot award.
\nThis season, Salah suffered a frustrating start with his team but he regained his form and scored ten goals at the league for Liverpool after 16 games leading his team to Premier League leadership. <\/p>\n

He also scored a decisive goal against Napoli at home that secure his team\u2019s qualification to second round. <\/p>\n
