A Saudi high-profile media delegation that accompanies Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman visited state-owned giant newspapers Al-Ahram, Akhbar Al-Youm, Al-Gomhuria and independent newspaper Youm7 on Monday and Tuesday. <\/p>\n
Major Saudi editors-in-chief paid the visit to observe the workflow in Egyptian newspapers, as Egypt is a pioneer in journalism in the Middle East. The first Arabic newspaper in the region, al-Waqai al-Misriya, was based in Egypt in 1828. <\/p>\n

Editor-in-Chief of Youm7 Khaled Salah called on Egyptian and Saudi media outlets to launch a joint media project in the mega city of Neom in accordance with modern mechanisms to train and qualify young cadres from both countries. <\/p>\n
He also called for setting a \u201cunified Arab vision\u201d in terms of media and journalism.
\nThe Neom media project, Salah explained, should include state-of-the-art media capabilities with nontraditional content and entertainment. Such a project would contribute to development by enhancing the knowledge and experience of recipients, he said. <\/p>\n
He added that the project would create a balance between local media venues and their counterparts in developed countries and counter their narratives that sometime target the interests of countries and peoples in the region. <\/p>\n

The Saudi delegation included Chairman of the Saudi New Agency Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein, General-Director of the Center for Government Communication Abdullah bin Ahmed Al-Maghlouth, Editor-in-Chief of Okaq newspaper Jamil bin Obaid al-Dhiyebi, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Hayat newspaper Saud al-Rayes and many others. <\/p>\n
The delegation emphasized the importance of media cooperation between the two countries, also calling for a unified Arab vision and utilizing journalism in the development of regional countries. <\/p>\n
Another judiciary delegation visited the Ministry of Justice to meet with prestigious judges, as Egypt is one of the first countries worldwide to establish judicial institutions.
\nIn March, the Crown Prince also visited Cairo Opera House, Al-Azhar and St. Mark Cathedral. <\/p>\n
